The scope of an Applied Scientist III in the Selling Partner Services (SPS) Machine Learning Accelerator (MLA) team is to research and prototype Machine Learning applications that solve strategic business problems across SPS domains. Additionally, the scientist collaborates with engineers and business partners to design and implement solutions at scale. They develop large-scale solutions for high impact projects, introduce tools and techniques to solve problems, and show depth and competence in more than one area. They influence the team’s technical strategy and develop tools and practices that streamline the work of the team, mentor junior team members, and participate in hiring. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

4+ years of applied research experience 3+ years of building machine learning models for business applications PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with modeling tools such as R, scikit-learn, Spark MLLib, MxNet, Tensorflow, numpy, scipy, etc. Experience with large scale distributed systems such as Hadoop, Spark, etc. Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
