Overview: The Vice President of Supply Chain aggressively leads efforts to drive cost reduction, optimize supply management, and improve material planning and control while ensuring seamless integration of all supply chain elements. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives that align with the organization’s objectives. Key responsibilities include building and leading a high-performing supply chain team composed of professionals in procurement, production planning, scheduling, analytics, and logistics. This position emphasizes accountability, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence within the department. The VP oversees the organization’s supply chain strategy, including inventory management, distribution, and transportation, ensuring operations are efficient across all manufacturing locations. Additional responsibilities include managing the supply chain budget, analyzing performance against quality, cost, and service benchmarks, and working closely with quality, customer service, and sales teams to maintain alignment between supply and demand goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Synchronize supply chain for optimum efficiency and costs. Develop and execute strategies to support operational excellence and long-range plans for success. Optimize procure-to-pay process. Organize and direct sourcing activities for value, quality, inventory, and delivery. Ensure proper continuity of supply. Drive rationalization and CI through life cycle strategic commodity business planning processes. Develop a highly effective team through selection, development, mentoring, and accountability. Develop and execute appropriate commodity and supply chain strategies. Collaboratively develop strategy and roadmap for successful future supply chain. Set effective standards and metrics for measuring results and supplier performance. Ability to develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies that support organizational goals and drive continuous improvement in cost reduction, quality, and delivery. Oversee all supply chain functions including procurement, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, and distribution to ensure optimal efficiency. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality materials are sourced at competitive prices while maintaining continuity of supply. Process Optimization through the analysis of existing processes and implement Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to streamline operations and enhance productivity across the supply chain. Establish and meet key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of supply chain initiatives and report on progress to top management. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team within the supply chain department; foster an inclusive workplace that encourages professional growth and ownership. Develop global sourcing strategies that align with market trends and organizational needs; manage a significant budget for procurement activities. Ensure effective inventory management practices are in place to minimize excess stock while meeting immediate customer demand. Strategic management of supplier performance and future organizational needs to assess the ability to meet quality and delivery requirements. Accountable for material planning to achieve target inventory turnover while eliminating negative customer impacts due to material shortage or delays.

Requirements: BS in Supply Chain Management or relevant field/Master’s Degree in Supply Chain Management preferred. APICS certifications (CPIM/CPM) highly valued; Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred. 10-15 years of experience in supply chain management within a manufacturing environment with a proven track record managing large scale budgets. Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or Oracle; strong analytical skills with experience in data analytics within supply chain functions. Strong working knowledge of complex warehouse and manufacturing industry processes and practices. Strong IT system experience (Microsoft Office). Excellent financial acumen specifically related to sourcing and supply chain. Experience with contemporary supplier integration techniques and processes. In-depth materials management expertise with successes in customer service, inventory, and cost. Demonstrated aptitude for connecting disparate types of information including planning, procurement, distribution, manufacturing, regulations, product development, and statistical methods. Systems thinking/mindset, including the ability to create an understanding of a larger system by examining linkages and interactions between components. Demonstrated ability to provide an inclusive workplace that fosters the development of others.
