The Role As a Staff Server Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and building the backend infrastructure for the bitcoin products e-commerce platform, powering the sale of our bitcoin hardware wallet, Bitkey, as well as our mining hardware. Working closely with product and logistics teams, you’ll deliver a fast, secure, and scalable e-commerce experience. You Will Architect and implement robust server-side solutions for the e-commerce platform, ensuring optimal performance and scalability. Design, build, and maintain APIs that support both traditional e-commerce sales as well as sales-driven workflows. Collaborate with front-end engineers using TypeScript, React, and Next.js to ensure seamless API integration. Ensure security best practices are in place, particularly for handling sensitive financial and customer data. Take ownership of build automation and deployment pipelines, ensuring reliable, scalable, and efficient deployment processes. Troubleshoot and optimize server-side code, database interactions, and third-party integrations for performance. Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews. You Have 8+ years of experience as a back-end or full-stack engineer, with a focus on building and scaling web applications. Strong experience with server-side languages like Node.js, Python, or Go, and proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Proven experience in designing and implementing build automation and managing deployment pipelines for web applications. Expertise in designing and implementing APIs for both e-commerce and workflow-driven applications. Strong understanding of database technologies and distributed systems. Familiarity with front-end technologies such as TypeScript, React, and Next.js to support seamless API integration. Nice to Have Experience with blockchain technologies and cryptocurrency. Familiarity with mining, IoT devices, or control planes for hardware systems.
