This position consists of mechanical project responsibility under the supervision of a department manager. You will be responsible for the design of the equipment and accuracy of engineering documents (drawings, bills of material, equipment ratings, etc.) to support manufacturing and the customer. Additionally, you will interface with sales, application engineering, and manufacturing to develop creative solutions and to suggest potential improvements relating to design and fabrication. There is a focus on sustainability and decarbonization in product design, as such you will also work closely with several other engineering departments for cross-functional collaboration. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship. How You Will Do It: Maintains a thorough understanding of engineering principles, theories, concepts, and processes. Routine use of thermodynamic, fluid mechanics, statics, strength of materials, and heat transfer knowledge. Prepares and checks engineering documents to support manufacturing and customer needs. Evaluates and implements corrective action for package quality initiatives. Relates applicable codes (ASHRAE, ASME, API, IIAR) and standards to designs. Routinely provides technical guidance to Vendors, Purchasing, Customers, Marketing, and Operations. Responsible for communicating technical direction to others (drafters, technicians, etc.) who assist on specific work assignments. Independently reads and interprets basic schematics (electrical, piping, etc.) and drawings (assembly, machining, etc.). Checks designs and drawings for correct use of mechanical components and verifies contents of finished system designs. Resolves manufacturing issues relating to design and fabrication. Travels to acquire training within the industry, up to a few times a year. Adheres to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Ethical Business standards. What We Look For: Required BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related science. Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and basic concepts of 3D solids design and 2D CAD. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are also essential. Ability to work independently and as part of a group. Basic understanding of fundamental business processes. Self-motivated work initiative. Desire to be a continual learner. Customer oriented mindset. Preferred: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical engineering, refrigeration, manufacturing, gas compression, or related field preferred. ​ LI-Hybrid
