Senior Data Engineer

Job Summary: The Senior Data Engineer will design and develop scalable data pipelines and applications for Pershing X's Cloud data platform, focusing on operational business intelligence marts and proactive monitoring. The role requires strong expertise in modern data stack technologies, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and ensuring high data quality, observability, and performance standards. Key Responsibilities: • Design and develop scalable data pipelines using modern data stack technologies. • Create ETL processes and design data applications for operational business intelligence marts. • Analyze technical metadata, pipeline logs, and data lineage to support operational decisions. • Collaborate with teams to elucidate observability requirements based on SLA, operational needs, and data quality. • Implement best practices in technology and data engineering. Required Qualifications: • Experience required: 12-15 years • Minimum 5 years of IT experience in data engineering or data management. • 4-5 years of experience in application development using SQL and PLSQL. • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with DBT and Snowflake. • Recent experience as a Senior Data Engineer on public cloud platforms, preferably Azure, and cloud data warehouses like Snowflake. • 2 years of experience building data pipelines using ETL/ELT tools. • Hands-on experience with Airflow is highly preferred. • Experience in building cloud-native solutions, preferably on Azure, using DevOps CI/CD tools and containers. • Proven expertise in data modeling, metadata processing, and monitoring data platforms. • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaborative skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Familiarity with data modeling tools/techniques. • Azure or Snowflake training/certification.
