POSITION SUMMARY: Marathon Petroleum Company (MPC) is currently accepting applications for a Maintenance Specialist to work within its engineering and maintenance group in Catlettsburg, KY. Maintenance Specialists are critical members of the Engineering group, and we are looking for individuals who can contribute to our inclusive work environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Provide ons i te pro j ect s upport for all vesse l outa g es. * Be well versed in the Marine Drydock St a nd a rd a nd apply i t to al l applicable outages . * Serve a s the point of conta c t for onsite decis i on-makin g dur i n g vess e l outages . * Provide input to the 5-year Vessel Grand Plan Budget. * Collabor a te with Port Engineers on evalu a tin g new technology. * Support Vessel Enginee r s and other maintenance related positions within Marine by prov i din g h a nds on t r aining for various vessel tasks. * Collabor a te w i th Marine Train i ng to develop evaluation s to properly determine the knowledge and skills of Vessel Eng i neers a nd other maintenance re l ated positions while recogniz i ng and communicat i ng g a ps with th e Port Eng i neer s and/or applicable s upervisor. * Collabor a te with P I and S ystems Analy s ts to find ways to improve * Develop a nd revise maintenance p r ocedure s a nd work in s truction s to en s ure proper ali g nment to the role of Vessel Engineer, a nd for outage related ta s ks. * Collabor a te with Port Engineers a nd MRF Crafts to en s ure m ainten a nce s trategie s are accurate, developin g recommend a tion s in areas th a t need i m prove m ent. * Represent Marine b y attendin g externa l t r ade s hows, conferences, a nd train i n g courses as needed. * Travel to sh i pyards l ocated i n KY, OH, IL, I N, TN , MO, M S , AL, LA , TX, and FL for onsite maintenance support. * Evaluate third party maintenance facilities/sh i p y ards to enh a nce flexib i lity for Marine. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * High school diploma or GED required. * Valid driver's license required. * Ability to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card required. * Up to 60% of travel may be required. * Mid-Career (4-10 Years) relevant experience preferred. #LS #marine As an energy industry leader, our career opportunities fuel personal and professional growth.
