D. Social Work: MSW License: Appropriate Independent License SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Excellent administrative and support skills
- Broad range of clinical skills including psychiatric assessment, capacity to formulate a case and develop a therapeutic alliance and plan treatment and aftercare.
- Crisis stabilization.
- Family support and intervention.
- Clinical privileges or eligibility for privileges in his/her discipline in individual, family and couples' treatment.
- Familiarity with the discharge planning process as well as community resources, public service delivery systems and consumer entitlement programs.
- Capacity to function independently in a clinical setting.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years supervision and administrative experience in the area of hiring, supervising and program development.
- A minimum of 10-year post degree experience or equivalent in an inpatient, partial, or outpatient setting.
- Experience in providing a range of clinical services including assessment, treatment and discharge planning.
- Experience in a managed care environment and the capacity to work collaboratively with managed care organizations.
The Senior Clinical Team Manager will work closely with the Clinical Director, the Program Psychiatrist, the Clinical Case Managers and all other Clinical staff to help establish and maintain quality treatment and training experiences for patients and staff. The Senior Clinical Team Manager has range of administrative and supervisory responsibilities in addition to his/her clinical responsibilities. The Senior Clinical Team Manager is accountable/responsible for the day-to-day treatment, management, disposition, and aftercare plan for his/her assigned patients with particular attention to taking responsibility for the prudent use of clinical resources. The Senior Clinical Team Manager position requires flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills bother with internal and external customers, the ability to function independently and to provide clinical supervision to other staff. The Clinical Team Manager position also requires some evening and/or weekend hours, and evening on call to the program.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Clinical Responsibilities (Weight 75%) Clinical Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Overall coordination and direct provision of clinical case management duties including the provision of clinical services to patients and family members as appropriate, according to the age and acuity of the patient.
- Act as primary liaison with family and significant others, inpatient, ambulatory and other relevant traters, community agencies, to third party payors to develop a timely and comprehensive discharge plan that includes access to services for patients and, where appropriate, family members.
- Provide Utilization Management function by maintaining contact with external managed care reviewers to manage the patient’s care in a manner that is both clinically and fiscally sound.
Administrative Functions (Weight 25%) Administrative functions include but are not limited to: • Participation in the hiring of all program staff. • Orientation, supervision and evaluation for social work staff and trainees (including annual performance appraisals). • Available for consultation on other clinical teams in areas of specific expertise. • Monitoring clinical care in compliance with all regulatory agencies and health and safety standards. • Planning, designing, monitoring, and participation, as needed, in milieu needs. • Liaison to respective professional discipline department and to other departments/outside agencies as require.
