Raytheon Industry 4.0 - Connected Factory & Intelligence (CFI&A) has an immediate career-growth opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and innovative Automation Systems Engineer (ASE) to join our team.

As an Automation Systems Engineering team member, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and sustainment of automation solutions and advanced Smart Factory / Industry 4.0 technologies in support of manufacturing. The role includes developing physical automation solutions (robots, PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems) and their integration with business systems (primarily using Ignition).

What You Will Learn: This role will merge technical, manufacturing, and business knowledge to drive new innovations across Raytheon.

The role has a foundation in controls engineering but offers significant opportunities for growth including developing new automation opportunities, quantifying business value, presenting to leadership, and then coordinating across functions to execute initiatives. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative and diverse team of engineers and leaders.

This position is an onsite role in Tucson, AZ.

What You Will Do: Collaborate with factory stakeholders to identify, develop, and deploy manufacturing automation systems and digital solutions. Continuous improvement, upgrades, and sustainment of deployed automation systems (ex. automation mechanisms, controls, robotics, autonomous vehicles) Full project lifecycle control – from requirements generation through execution & sustainment Program front end visualizations in Ignition to enable data driven decisions that dictate actionable changes & priorities

What You Will Learn Skills within the core Automation Systems Engineering toolset (Control programming, robotics, equipment integration with business systems, HMI programming, and machine vision). Implementing common automation and I4.0 solutions in a high paced manufacturing environment. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders.

Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires Bachelor Degree in Engineering or similar Technical degree 2+ years of experience in manufacturing operations/engineering, systems engineering, controls engineering, and/or automation engineering; or an applicable advanced STEM degree Experience with automation mechanisms, controls, robotics, and/or vision systems The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through University Degree combined with experience. Practical knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work. Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience. Engineering/Other Technical Positions:Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
