Headquarters: Woburn, MA. Engineer, design, develop, administer, and support databases, networks, infrastructure, components and systems. Initiate corrective actions, maintain schedule, and install, configure, upgrade, and test networks, operating systems, and big data deployments. Develop and implement recovery plans, procedures, and environments. Collaborate with team and vendors, maintain logs of database design/architecture and setup. Participate in on-call support, and review requirements, access, device allocations, validation checks, security, software upgrades. Migrate clusters, encrypt data, and perform data backups, scripting and automation. Troubleshoot problems, monitor systems and network performance, satisfy client/user needs, recommend modifications, and formulate test plans. Use Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Hbase, Spark, HDP, Cloudera, distcp, HMS, Python, Java, C, C++, Shell, Agile Scrum/Kanban, Ansible, Ansible Tower, Jenkins, HDFS, Sqoop. 40 hrs/wk. Must have Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field, and 2 years experience in the proffered position or as a Developer, Software Engineer, Technology Analyst, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation. In the alternative, will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in the specified fields plus 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the specified occupations. Must have at least one (1) year of experience administering systems; working with databases and clusters; developing components; performing installation, configuration, data backups, scripting, troubleshooting; reviewing logs and security; using Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Hbase, Spark, Cloudera, Shell, HDFS, Sqoop. Must be willing to travel/relocate to unanticipated locations throughout the US on short notice for extended periods of time. Telecommuting permitted.
