Marathon Petroleum Company Marine Division is located in Catlettsburg, KY. Marathon operates on the Western and Inland Waterways River Systems. Vessel employees are scheduled 28 days on/28 days off rotation and work two six-hour watches each day with a six-hour rest period in between. Meals and lodging are provided while living on the vessel.
Candidates outside the home port of Catlettsburg, KY are welcomed and encouraged to apply as generally, successful candidates would report to Catlettsburg, KY or directly to the vessel six times per year.
Job Description
Responsible for tow configurations, drop-offs, pick-ups, and duties of other crew members.
Overseeing the work of the crew members, (Deckhands and Mates).
Has direct control and responsibility of the boat, barges, and crew members.
Uses radar to determine the geographic position of the vessel for safe Navigation.
Coordinates the activities of crew members responsible for signaling devices, such as the vessel's whistle, flashlight, flags, and radio to signal vessels in vicinity.
Position Requirements:
High school diploma/ GED.
Valid Driver’s License.
