Chief Accounting Officer

DescriptionKforce's client, a New Jersey based publicly traded corporation is seeking a Chief Accounting Officer. This will be a hybrid role located in the greater Morristown, NJ area. The CAO reports to the CFO and will play a key role in managing the company's accounting operations including overseeing multiple accounting and finance functions- the financial close, reporting, internal controls, and audit and tax processes.Key Responsibilities:* Prepare and review SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations* Develop, maintain, and update company accounting policies* Monitor new and proposed accounting and reporting standards* Act as the primary liaison with external auditors* Provide technical accounting guidance to senior management* Participate in key governance meetings, including the Board of Directors' Audit CommitteeThe company offers a very generous comp plan, including a competitive base salary, performance bonus and equity.Requirements* CPA with 15+ years of progressive experience in public accounting (Big 4 a plus) and industry, most recently as a CAO, Controller or Director in a publicly traded corp* A strong hands-on approach to technical accounting and SEC reporting, in addition to overseeing general accounting (accounting close, financial reporting, and transactional accounting)* Proven track record in leadership roles in complex environments* Must have strong technical accounting expertise including strong technical proficiency with US GAAP & SEC Reporting/Regulations* Excellent Interpersonal and leadership skills* Experience with finance transformation efforts as a change agent to drive greater efficienciesJob TypeDirect HireCompensation300000 - $360000
