If so, AMERICAN SYSTEMS wants you to join our team as our next Platform Systems Engineer IV in the Arlington, VA or JBAB, DC area!As a Platform Systems Engineer IV, you will:Diagnose and resolve performance, security, and/or technical challenges related to enterprise platformsProvide Tier 3 IT systems support on a wide range of technologies across classified enterprise systemsReceive a robust benefits package that includes Employee Stock Ownership Plan!Be a part of an empowered accountability culture where each employee-owner has a meaningful stake in the future success and growth of the company.A week in the life of a Platform Systems Engineer IV: Design and implement scalable platform architecture in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Lead the development and deployment of platform components, services, and applications. Drive security best practices and troubleshoot complex issues to minimize downtime.Performing requirements analysis, requirements gathering, and integration for all platforms Investigating and resolving operational problems with other engineering and technical personnelWork on project teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases within the customer’s production IT environmentProviding direction and guidance to less-experienced Systems EngineersJob RequirementsActiveTOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibilityDoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification required (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP)Bachelor’s degree10+ years of related experience as a Platform Engineer or similar role OR 12+ years of experience in lieu of degreeExperience designing and maintaining highly available, scalable, and secure architectures in cloud and on-premises environments across IL5 to IL6+ domains.At least 2 years of experience administering Linux (RHEL) systemsproficient in Linux administration, including managing users, permissions, networking, and storage.comfortable with commands for system monitoring, package management, and shell scriptingKnowledge of Microsoft Windows Systems, EMC SANs, and VMware productsStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issuesNOTE: This position is 100% on-site.AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $180,000.
