Join Roche, where every voice matters.The PositionNGS Sales SpecialistThe Opportunity:This role supports our Sequencing & Life Sciences franchise. As an NGS Sales Specialist, you will manage the specified sales territory to present and sell Sequencing instruments and related products within the Roche Sequencing and Life Science portfolio. You will focus on expanding and growing accounts including Commercial Sequencing Providers, Academic Medical Centers, Large Reference Labs, Molecular Pathology labs, Biotech, Pharma, and Universities engaged in research and clinical applications that utilize genomic methods, including next-generation sequencing.• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to meet and exceed sales objectives in targeted accounts• Develop and implement a strategic capital account sales plan to achieve or exceed sales revenue targets for the Roche Sequencer and other genomics capital equipment, including all relevant pull-through products.• Effectively articulate clinically relevant product features/benefits to illustrate product value and drive revenue growth in targeted market segments.• Facilitate product demos, and develop business cases to aid in customer capital purchase reviews and budgeting processes.• Demonstrate sufficient technical knowledge of relevant instruments and products to provide valuable assistance to customers.• Achieve and surpass sales targets by identifying and securing new sales prospects in the assigned accounts and territory.• Engage in educational initiatives to drive demand and increase brand recognition• Directly provide internal stakeholders with information on customer needs to create account-specific promotions, seminars, and exhibitions to support our strategic goals on a tactical basis.• Work closely with the Sales team and Field Application Specialist counterparts to drive incremental business growth.• Utilize your adept negotiation abilities to effectively present contract proposals to customers, to optimize overall business performance and profitability.• Network and interface with internal colleagues to share information and best practices while remaining actively involved in industry/customer organizations that impact business.This is a field based role supporting our Northeastern territory to include: Connecticut, Delaware, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Washington DC, West Virginia.  Candidate must reside in the territory and/or within 50 miles of the territory border.Relocation benefits are not provided for this position.Estimated 50% - 75% overnight travel requiredWho you are:You’re someone who is driven and wants to influence your development. Scientific discipline is strongly preferred.• Minimum 5 years of sales experience selling capital equipment in the diagnostics/life sciences industry is required.• Have an understanding of Next Generation Sequencing and related genomic techniques.• Have demonstrated excellent negotiation, strategic planning, and organizational skills.• Have demonstrated the ability to uncover needs in highly technical situations and provide customers with a business solution.• Have the ability to leverage internal resources and collaborate effectively with counterparts to ensure customer retention, expand existing accounts, and generate new business opportunities.Have an entrepreneurial spirit, strong business acumen, and a desire to conquer complex sales processes.• Leadership presence and business acumen with expertise in competitive environments and the ability to create/drive solutions with others.• Must have proven success in previous sales capacity, using consultative selling skills, along with demonstrated leadership and communication excellence.• Presence and communication ability required with the ability to create and present impactful group presentations.• 50% - 75% overnight travel required.Preferred:• 5+ years of selling experience in a clinical research or academic laboratory environment• Experience selling a Sequencer for research or clinical applications involving NGS and other genomic methods.• Experience with NGS Data analysis• Have a good understanding of Next-Generation SequencingThe expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of MA is $114,700 - $212,900.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  This position is eligible to earn incentive compensation that is calculated and paid in accordance with the applicable Incentive Compensation Plan for the role.
