A healthcare facility near Skanee, Michigan, is in need of temporary coverage to support its obstetrics and gynecology department. This position offers a mix of inpatient care, scheduled clinical hours, and call responsibilities. Position Details * Start Date : November 15, 2024 * End Date : June 18, 2025 * Call Requirements : * 10 hours of in-house coverage, followed by 14 hours of on-call coverage. * Must respond to the Emergency Department or Labor & Delivery within 10 minutes when required. * Average 8 call interactions per 24 hours. * Shift Details : * 8 hours of onsite presence with 24-hour call shifts during specified dates. * Practice Setting : Inpatient only. * Patients Per Day : Approximately 4.3 patients. * Number of Beds : 15 in the obstetrics department. Clinical Requirements * Procedures and Skills Needed : * Low and high-risk pregnancies, routine deliveries, and C-sections. * Vaginal breech delivery and VBACs. * Management of complications like abruptions and multiple births. * Proficiency in OB ultrasounds and gynecologic procedures (e.g., IUD insertion, cystoscopy, colposcopy, LEEP). * Laparoscopic and open gynecologic surgeries. Certifications & Qualifications * Board Certification : Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology. * Licensure : Active Michigan state license required. * Additional Certifications : No advanced life support certifications are required, but candidates are encouraged to hold ABLS, ACLS, BLS, or similar. Additional Information * Hospital Support : Collaborate with 68 RNs daily. * Residents and Students : Supervise family medicine residents and medical students during rotations. * Deliveries : Approximately 370380 deliveries annually within the unit.
