We are seeking a full-time, licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our established Rheumatology care center in Waco, TX located across from Ascension Providence Hospital and Meadowlake Medical Center. We are in the heart of Texas and serve a population of half million within a 90-mile radius of McLennan County. 

Our care center has 2 Physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers, 8 exam rooms, a state-of-the-art Infusion Suite with 8 chairs, DEXA bone density machine, active in clinical research, and a dedicated staff. Our clinic endeavors to provide advanced and comprehensive assessment and treatment for arthritis, connective tissue disease, osteoporosis, inflammatory and autoimmune rheumatic disorders.

A Day in the life of a Rheumatology APP

Responsibilities:

  • Examine patients and their medical records
  • Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays etc.)
  • Diagnose and Propose treatments for autoimmune and arthritic diseases
  • Prescribe medications and IV Infusion Treatments as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and schedules
  • Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
  • Educate patients and their family members on diseases, epidemics and prevention
  • Oversee patients’ overall health
  • Promote good health practices
  • Advance professional knowledge and conduct research
  • Other duties as assigned by collaborating physician

Requirements:

  • 1yr + experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Rheumatology, Internal Medicine, Orthopedics, or similar preferred
  • Bilingual - English and Spanish preferred
  • IV Infusion skills
  • Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, and written.
  • Strong ethics
  • Team spirit with a positive attitude, patience and cool-headedness
  • Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
  • Active Texas Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant & DEA licensure
  • Master’s degree; PhD is a plus
