The budgeted salary range for the position is $61,008 to $74,088. Position Summary The laboratory of Dr. Yuhang Fan in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics in the College of Medicine at University of Illinois Chicago is looking for motivated post-doctoral candidates to study the functions of RNA biochemistry in organismal regeneration. RNA and its chemical modifications are key regulators of cell fate decisions and represent promising functional targets for regenerative medicine. This candidate will work on multiple projects that combine unique model organisms, spatial omics technology development, and computational modeling to uncover RNA-driven mechanisms that enable whole-body regeneration and to identify new epigenetic targets for therapeutic intervention. and read the most recent publications. Duties & Responsibilities Work with Principal Investigator to design and develop research projects. Conduct independent research experiments, including data collection and analysis. Test, optimize, and troubleshoot new and existing methods and techniques. Prepare scientific results for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Communicate results at internal and external scientific conferences. Assist in the training of graduate students and research staff. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications PhD degree in biochemistry, cell biology, developmental biology, bioinformatics, or a related field. At least one first authored, peer-reviewed original research publication. Knowledge of basic experimental design and statistics. Preferred Qualifications Research experience with biochemical assays (Western blotting, EMSA), protein expression and purification, high-throughput sequencing (ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq), fluorescence imaging, germ cell development, or multiomics data analysis is a plus.
