What You'll Do : As a Loss Control Specialist, you will work with our client members and agents primarily in I to evaluate losses and exposures, and then provide solutions to mitigate risks. You will conduct on-site surveys to investigate and analyze risk exposures and loss experience with a heavy focus on commercial accounts and recommend solutions to assist client/members in avoiding or reducing loss. You will provide risk assessment and risk improvement consultation on accounts of various sizes selected by factors including premium, loss experience, exposures, and other criteria. In this role, you will also facilitate loss control training programs, workshops and/or seminars for client/members and agents. You will also participate in the development and research of innovative, distinctive and cost-effective loss control services and tools. As a Loss Control Specialist, you will be joining a small but growing and mighty team, so you must be flexible as you will have other job-related duties and special projects as assigned. What It Takes to Join Our Team:
• College degree or equivalent plus 5 years of relevant experience is required.
• 3-5 years Loss Control or Safety Experience required.
• Continued progress towards industry education and maintenance of designations is expected. ARM, CSP or other safety-related designation is a plus.
• Advanced analytical, problem solving and project management skills are required.
• Must have high attention to detail, strong organizational skills and a good work ethic.
• Strong customer service and facilitation skills are required - including solid verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills are required in order to quickly learn our multiple systems.
• Must be able to work under all kinds of weather conditions and perform safety and property inspections that may require moving over uneven terrain, climbing, and other physical tasks to fully appraise all physical aspects of property and buildings. May be required to infrequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record according to Fleet Safety guidelines. A company vehicle is provided.
• Ability to work independently, proactively and maintain flexible working hours, including frequent overnight travel. You will work out of our Nebraska office and spend significant time in the field. This position includes daily travel within your territory, as well as frequent overnight travel (75%). There will also be limited travel within our other states we do business (IA, AZ, KS, MN, NE, NM, SD & UT). What We Offer You:
