What You’ll Do: As a Tax Manager, you will play a critical role in managing client relationships, overseeing tax preparation, ensuring compliance, and leading a team of tax professionals to deliver exceptional service. Key Responsibilities: Tax Preparation & Review: Oversee the preparation and review of complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Client Management: Serve as the main point of contact for a diverse portfolio of clients, providing proactive tax planning, advice, and solutions. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients. Tax Research & Planning: Conduct advanced research on tax matters and provide strategic tax planning to minimize liabilities and maximize client benefits. Stay current on new tax laws and regulations. Mentorship & Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop junior tax staff, providing guidance on technical tax issues, client service, and professional development. Workflow Management: Manage multiple tax projects, ensuring that deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of accuracy and client satisfaction. Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery. Reviewing Tax Strategies: Analyze client financial data and tax strategies, offering solutions to optimize tax positions. Compliance & Filing: Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns and documentation. Work to resolve any tax audits or notices from the IRS or state tax authorities. Business Development: Contribute to business development efforts by identifying opportunities for new services or expanding existing relationships.
What You Need to Have:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA designation required or Enrolled Agent. Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in tax preparation and review, with a strong background in corporate, partnership, and individual tax compliance and strategy. Advanced knowledge of federal and state tax codes and regulations. Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSystem FX, CCH, Thomson Reuters, etc.). Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to handle complex tax issues with attention to detail and accuracy. Experience managing client relationships and leading a team.
