Beginner Program Lead

As the Beginning Program Lead you will report to the PYSF Director. You will be responsible for
developing course curricula
for introductory sailing classes; ensuring that seasonal coaches are following the curricula and adhering to safety regulations;
coaching beginner level sailors and racers ; and engaging in
outreach activities with Bay Area youth organizations . You will be assisting the PYSF Director when hosting events; and performing related duties as required. This is a full-time position. Limited travel is a requirement. Primary Duties Coach and oversee all introductory-level classes Track sailors’ attendance and progress from season to season (if applicable) Assist with maintenance of motorboat and sailboat fleets as needed (optis, Z420s, C420s, Ideal 18s) Monitor and support sailors' progression through beginner-level classes Assist with coaching and set-up for regattas, community building and fundraising events Perform related duties as required Qualifications Extensive experience coaching introductory- through racing-level is highly desirable Possession of the following certifications: U.S. Sailing “Level 1,2,3” CPR/First Aid Heads-Up Concussion Training Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite tools Knowledge of record-keeping principles and practices Interest, Skills and Abilities To: Communicate effectively with children and adults Lift/move watercraft and related equipment Work a flexible schedule to include weekends and evenings Work collaboratively with all PYSF personnel Model appropriate coaching behavior Benefits: Medical and dental benefits Employer-paid Workers Compensation, Unemployment and State Disability Insurance benefits
