Joint Base Anacostia Bolling (JBAB), Washington DC - onsite JOB SUMMARY:
The AFNCR IT Services program provides support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations, leased spaces, and alternate sites. The major support areas are: IT Operations and Maintenance; Plans, Projects, and Engineering (PP&E). The senior leaders and national defense missions that are supported require that the AFNCR operations never fail, resulting in a fast-paced, challenging, but also rewarding environment. SHIFT:
Day shift PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as a Tier-2 technician for customers seeking support for POTS, ISDN, T-1, and other copper pair related telecom technologies. Skilled in employing TDRs, Multimeters, and Butt Sets and amp and probe, to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot telephone outages, ensuring swift resolution and minimal downtime during system outages. Proficient in utilizing Remedy software as a technician to efficiently troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues and outage tickets. Identify and address issues promptly, liaising with service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or degraded system performance. Collaborate with partner vendors to facilitate moves, adds, changes, upgrades, and patch management of voice infrastructure. Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely resolution of network outages or periods of reduced performance and contribute to the documentation of voice systems by providing clear written and verbal communication. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Associate Degree with 2+ years of related experience; additional relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Knowledge of POTS and ISDN telephony system architectures and configurations. Current Security+ce or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT level II certification. Currently possess a final DoD Secret security clearance (not interim). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with IT trouble ticket management processes and procedures. Experience with telecommunication systems Private Branch Exchange (PBX), Automatic Call Distributor (ACD). Experience at the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), and Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB). Knowledge of Air Force, Pentagon, and/or AFNCR operations. MUST BE U.S. CITIZEN
