We are seeking a highly motivated Cyber Security Engineer to join our National Intelligence Program supporting the operations, maintenance of a complex, hybrid on-premises and cloud enterprise IT environment. As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be working with an agile, fast paced team focused on defending our client’s network.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor network performance, systems for potential threats, troubleshoot issues, and escalate appropriately to respond to incidents. Identify, escalate, and address incidents, conduct thorough root cause analyses and work with senior engineers to implement corrective actions to prevent future breaches. Participate in accreditation processes for systems to ensure compliance with the Sponsor’s security standards and certifications. Implement security measures designed by senior engineers. Learn security policies and protocols to ensure compliance with IC standards and collaborate with other engineers to conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify and address weaknesses. Support Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and information assurance processes and documentation. Participate in efforts to ensure network reliability and availability through redundancy, failover, and other high-availability techniques. Demonstrate willingness to learn new concepts and steadily take on additional responsibilities. Stay abreast of the latest network technology trends that can enhance the performance and capability of analytics and software services. Qualifications Required:
Possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Familiarity with high-performance network infrastructure that supports data-heavy analytic and software applications. Experience with modern networking technologies, including SD-WAN, MPLS, VPN, and/or cloud networking services. Understanding of Cisco routers and switches’ configuration, management, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of network security practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, able to address complex networking challenges. Excellent communication skills, with the capacity to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Desired:
Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages to streamline network operations. Experience in Cybersecurity Fundamentals (e.g., SANS courses, MITRE ATT&CK, CEH or similar training/experience). Computer Networking experience (e.g., TCP/IP, packet capture data structures, TLS and related data). SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline. Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
