Smashburger is seeking an outstanding candidate to serve as a
Sr. Financial Analyst
in its Denver, Colorado office.
This individual will be part of the Finance Department and will play an important role in the Company's weekly & monthly reporting. They will be responsible for supporting the senior members of the finance team, including preparing weekly ops reports, weekly/period variance analysis, marketing promotion performance & forecasting, calculating productivity, and other projects requested by senior management. This function acts as an analytical engine of the department to provide insights, data, and support 'optimal' business decision making to the team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Compiling and analyzing financial data and creating financial models for decision support Reporting on financial performance and preparing for regular leadership reviews Analyzing past results, performing variance analysis, identifying trends, and making recommendations for improvements Guiding the cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures Performing financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking Evaluating financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts Providing analysis of trends and forecasts and recommending actions for optimization Recommending actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials Identifying and driving process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboards Increasing productivity by developing automated reporting/forecasting tools
Additional Responsibilities: Help implement and oversee financial IT systems to improve efficiency and provide critical financial and operational information, ensuring data integrity and security
Candidate Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics 2 - 5 years of relevant work experience: restaurant or retail industry preferred Ability to handle large amounts of data, using Excel as the primary tool for analysis Mature and professional candidate who is a self-starter willing to accept a large amount of responsibility Excellent command of PowerPoint and Excel Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills Ability to think strategically and act tactically Strong work ethic, ability to multitask, attention to detail, and resourceful Works well independently and as part of a small team
