STATUS: Full-time, Regular, Exempt
PURPOSE: Oversees all aspects of student engagement from enrollment to student life success at the college. Works with the Enrollment and Student Life staff to foster an intentional effort to strengthen the processes and engagement for student success.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sets the tone for the implementation of a residential environment that is positive, engaging, and challenging for students’ spiritual growth. Directs the entire admissions process for potential ACC students including oversight of enrollment staff as well as planning for all recruitment travel and marketing. Travels up to 33% of the time for recruitment/enrollment/student experience purposes. Provides direction, oversight, ongoing training, and professional development opportunities for student life and enrollment staff. Provides fiscal management and reporting for the Enrollment and Student Services budget. Develops and implements all relevant policies, record keeping, professional standards, laws, and administrative duties to effect positive student recruitment, engagement, and student life experience. Develops Standard Operating Procedures. Supervises student and spiritual life staff. Assesses and implements all recruitment and retention opportunities and project trends for a successful student experience from initial contact through departure from ACC. Works with the Registrar and Financial Aid Office in the enrollment process for each student. Guides the publicity and promotion of ACC that is compelling and relevant throughout Alaska. Promotion of ACC will include social media, mass media, video, and printed materials. Analyzes and evaluates the financial viability of students and families and provides advice and counsel regarding available financial aid opportunities, eligibility requirements, and the application process. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field. At least two years of progressive experience in Residence Life and/or Enrollment. Strong understanding of, and ability to, weave a formational approach into various initiatives and foster a balanced Christ-like culture on campus. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external constituents. Knowledge of mental health conditions and crisis interventions. Must have the ability to handle emergency situations. Strong communication skills and ability to motivate students. Experience in serving and mentoring young adults with an understanding of group behavior and dynamics. Must demonstrate a strong cultural sensitivity and awareness. Proven team-building and problem-solving skills with a teachable spirit. Strong administrative and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize, organize, and accomplish necessary tasks. Must be able to work independently and show good judgment. Understanding of and ability to meet the demands of an extraordinary work schedule. Must be able to pass a background check. WORKING CONDITIONS: Will require being on-call to meet student needs 24/7 in the absence of other student life staff. Must be prepared to deal with frequent interruptions and multiple demands for time and attention from both staff and students. Work will be conducted both on and off campus, in and out of an office setting.
DRESS CODE: Within the office, “business casual” dress is expected. Jeans are acceptable as long as they are clean and well-kept. If any questions arise regarding what is appropriate, speak with the supervisor.
