Key job responsibilities
AWS Finance seeks a Finance Manager to support several EC2 Core businesses. This role is critical in not only addressing financial deliverables (Weekly Business Review, Monthly Financial Reviews, Operating Plans, pricing/discounts, etc.) but also driving the business to find efficiencies to grow profit. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively and manage multiple time sensitive deliverables across a matrixed organization. The individual will also possess strong business partnership skills and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders. A day in the life
Serve as the key business partner working directly with AWS senior management and other internal stakeholders to provide financial recommendations. Build financial models for new business concepts, make analytical judgments, and deliver data intensive analyses to drive meaningful change. Present financial summary and business insights to the business and finance leadership. Develop and standardize financial reporting packages. Drive continuous improvements in profitability, free cash flow, and operational efficiency. About the team
This role will work closely with finance management as well as key business partners across the AWS organization, including Product Managers, Engineers and GMs, to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership. This role requires a self-starter and independent individual with strong financial modeling abilities, problem solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science) Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA, or CMA 6+ years of identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes experience Advanced experience in financial modeling, P&L management or analysis Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
