Against that backdrop, we are seeking an accomplished technology leader for the role of Associate VP, Cloud Solutions Engineering. The focus of this position will be to drive business growth and value by providing a comprehensive suite of infrastructure engineering services through modern cloud, automation, and development-oriented technology approaches. The AVP of Cloud Solutions Engineering is expected to bring a broad vision to Humana's Technology landscape, with the engineering and operational experience and rigor that is commensurate with the increasing scale and complexity of Humana's enterprise. This position is a senior leader in the Technology organization. As such, it requires someone who can bring the experience of leading a major enterprise successfully through such digital transformations as migration to cloud infrastructures, enabling and transitioning to microservices, efficiency and scale through automation and SRE practices, and setting the strategy and vision for modern data management and analytics. This position can be located anywhere within the lower 48 states. Responsibilities: Develop vision and strategy for a secure, scalable, reliable, automated cloud platform that enables self-service and frictionless delivery of cloud services at scale. Accelerate development of foundational cloud capabilities that allow for rapid deployment of cloud applications and services. Collaborate with IT stakeholders to develop, communicate and execute a multi-year cloud and data strategy to simplify delivery model, reduce hand-offs and drive transformational change. Lead cloud platform engineering transformation to support modern development architecture supporting always-on enterprise applications and services. Define and set data standards products contain complete, accurate, and detailed measurement throughout the customer journey. Establish best practices to improve data architecture, development process and data reliability. Lead teams who define standards for data architecture and who manages the platforms covering areas for data engineering. Integrate and automate deployment and provisioning of highly available infrastructure across data centers and hybrid cloud platforms to reduce overall delivery times. Develop a progressive engineering culture that fosters creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Build in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across segments and/or enterprise-wide. Makes decisions that are typically related to intradepartmental coordination, development and implementation of strategic plans, and business outcomes. Key Candidate Qualifications: Extensive (typically 10 years) of technical experience, along with a record of success in leading and facilitating technology transformations to cloud services such as Azure, AWS, and GCP. Proven experience working in an Agile Scrum environment with data engineering solutions like Snowflake, Databricks, and modern database solutions for cloud environments. Strong leadership experience with a record of success in expanding and elevating team capabilities and performance. Bachelor's degree required; Master's in a technology field is a plus. Experience leading legacy transformations at scale, while navigating complexity and regulatory frameworks. Strong engineering expertise, ideally applied in a progressive leading-edge organization with scale and complexity. Strategic thought partnership and ability to learn the business, helping to shape multi-year strategies to support overall business growth. Capable of working up, down, and across an organization, effectively navigating a matrix to get things done. Current or recent experience in a large, highly matrixed company (i.e., Fortune 250), with proven ability to influence leaders and key stakeholders. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence for effective interaction with senior and executive level audiences. Highly collaborative mindset and excellent relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage diverse stakeholders. Extensive executive and people leadership experience (typically 8 years) with a demonstrated track record of building and developing strong teams. Prior experience in the health solutions industry.
