In this position…

Looking for a Solution Train Engineer to be part of continuous release operations of software updates team that is part of the Model e Software Development organization. This individual will play a key role in leading planning activities for OTA delivery such as ECU sequencing plan and prove-out. This individual will also coordinate with Design & Release engineers, software Bill of Materials (lineage) analysis across various systems, monitor for issues and ensure corrective actions are performed in a timely manner for E2E package setups and testing.

What you'll do…

Implement global OTA delivery for connected features across multiple vehicle programs via over-the-air introduction through coordination with cross-functional teams in Product Development, Service and Ford Partners.

Create and update Jira backlog to establish an E2E view of delivery in JIRA for OTA final sign off and deployment of module software and configurations.

Partner with Module/ECU Design & Release Engineers, Product Managers, Technical Program Managers and Functional Leads on release scope, timing requirements and constraints for OTA operations.

Understand the feature function decomposition, led by the Feature Owner, to identify cross-functional module dependencies for OTA delivery sequencing.

Elicit the current and target part number details, health charts and SWADs of the release approved for OTA, to create and maintain sequence document by program and model year.

Conduct reviews to ensure all criteria for passing sequence document and traceability matrix checks are complete to initiate icepacks/package creation.

Support and enable the MMOTA, VeV, VE , PV , module, content and service testing teams with current and target part numbers, config changes and the features enabled after a customer action update.

Support E2E package setup / FSO planning and track the part release process for firmware, base parts , differential files, programming methods, service actions, configuration, and map updates etc. as applicable for impacted features/modules via OTA and service.

Consolidate feature specific content to assist with VADR domain definitions and ORFIN business rules definition as applicable by MY/Program/Trim/Market of rollout.

Proactively manage issues and risks to remove blockers for progress on OTA sequence of VADR and CAN modules for FNV2/3 programs across regions.

Support defect triage and diagnosis of part number/cross-product issues that materialize within the customer action release cycle when they impact the wider system.

Develop and maintain accuracy of content in Jira and sequence document, aligned with the timing plan to support interface with OTA Operations Deployment Operations Management for OTA deployments.

You'll have…

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer or Software Engineering, Math or Business, or related degree; or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education

• 5+ years of experience managing projects / programs

• 5+ years of experience with project planning software using Waterfall or Agile methodologies

• Experience in feature function decomposition to recognize dependencies.

• Strong communications skills with the ability to effectively liaison between multiple cross-functional managers.

• Broad understanding of embedded systems and development milestones, vehicle CAN signal analysis, cloud connectivity and integration, backend enterprise systems integration and mobile applications integration to develop x-functional program level gives / gets and project planning.

• Understanding of GPDS methodologies for engineering design and development and impact on OTA

• Knowledge and experience with systems engineering fundamentals and quality / reliability methods for both in-vehicle and off-board systems

• Ability to handle multiple tasks/products with a results-driven mentality.

• Attention to detail critical.

• Strong analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills; team oriented.

• Strong written and oral skills - able to clearly convey complex blends of business and technical matters to a range of audiences.

• Effective time management and prioritization skills.

• Creative in quickly developing approaches to problems and recommending actions to management, including implementation of suggested recommendations.

• Self-starter and highly motivated; Uses sound business judgment and exhibits leadership qualities.

• Thorough understanding of SAFE Agile methodologies for IT/ Cloud / App design and development

• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (SharePoint, PowerPoint, OneNote, Excel)
