What you will do PGIMFixed Incomeis seeking to hire a US Economist for the Global Macroeconomic Research Team to support the team’s research agenda. The team is responsible for formulating the firm’s views on the economic outlook across emerging and developed countries, as well as maintaining sovereign credit ratings and developing economic research for use in the investment process as well as for external distribution. We are looking for an individual with strong interpersonal skills who is intellectually curious, highly collaborative, and proactive. This is a hybrid position whereby the Associate will be typically expected to be present in our Newark, NJ office three days per week. The position reports to the Chief US Economist. Tracking economic and political developments to help develop and refine our US economic outlook. Developing access to new data sets and supporting the analysis. Further developing macroeconomic and financial databases and automating related chart books. Supporting the research and other analytical work of regional economists on the team. What you will bring
B.A. or M.A. in economics, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or related fields. Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience focused on the US economy in a financial institution, central bank or think tank. Hands-on experience with macroeconomic and financial data. Strong econometric, data management and programming skills (e.g., Haver, Macrobond, Stata, Eviews, Python). High attention to detail. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks under tight deadlines.
