SUMMARY: The Enterprise Architect (EA) is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and management of technology architecture models from contextual through physical levels. They ensure that the Firm’s business strategy uses appropriate technology systems architecture to achieve its goals. The EA interprets and applies information contained within architecture models, diagrams, and processes to inform business improvement activities, particularly those involved in the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of technical solutions. The EA actively participates in the architecture review board (ARB) and ensures that the overall enterprise architecture landscape is maintained coherently while considering security and quality. The primary role of the EA is to align the respective business, application, data, and technology perspectives with the organization’s technology strategy, governance, policies, and standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborate with domain architects, engineers, and leaders to document current state architecture, develop domain capability models, maturity assessments, health assessments, and technical roadmaps. Support the strategic planning process by providing input to the scope definition of strategic initiatives leveraging roadmaps to provide visibility to impacts, dependencies, overlaps, and improvement opportunities. Define, communicate, and document the enterprise architecture patterns, styles, principles, and blueprints. Define metrics to measure and demonstrate architectural value. Analyze enterprise business context and objectives to derive the enterprise solution architecture ‘future' state. Research, document, and drive the adoption of design patterns throughout the enterprise and evangelize best practices for solution design and development. Maintain contact with vendors, industry peers, and professional associations to stay informed of existing and evolving industry standards and technologies. Recommend, design, and consult in activities related to the design, development, and maintenance of the Enterprise Architecture (EA). Research technology solutions on the market for technical requirements, business needs, and strategic alignment applications. Make recommendations on technical solutions and integrations. Conduct and/or actively participate in meetings related to designated project(s). Advise and recommend enterprise architecture strategies, processes, and methodologies. Recommend and participate in the analysis, evaluation, and development of enterprise long-term strategic and operating plans to ensure that the EA objectives are consistent with the enterprise’s long-term business objectives. Share best practices, lessons learned, and constantly update the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current, and upcoming vendor products and solutions. Facilitate and chair the architecture review board to ensure compliance of EA patterns, principles, and technologies. Mentor group members and provide education regarding architecture and strategy across IT. Collaborate with all relevant parties to review the objectives and constraints of solutions to determine conformance with the architecture principles. Recommend and participate in the development of architecture blueprints for related systems. Identify and recommend areas appropriate for further study and participate in any proof-of-concept projects required to thoroughly investigate architectural possibilities and strengthen arguments for their adoption. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCY REQUIRED: Business Analysis, IT Project Management, Systems Architecture & Design, IT/Technology Infrastructure Design and Planning, Software Architecture, Design & Development, Database Administration, IT Security Management, IT/Technology Service Operations and Event Management, SDLC. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years related experience as a Solution or Enterprise Architect required. The ideal candidate will have the following profile: Experience as technical lead for several major technology implementations. Experience in companies with revenue above $1b, Fortune 500 experience preferred. Experience working in high transaction, high volume IT organizations on architecture teams with a focus on integration and rationalizing. Hands-on engineering skills to develop POC’s, patterns, and anti-pattern examples. Experience in architecting and building high performance enterprise-scale distributed systems. Knowledge/experience in the following strongly preferred: Distributed architectures, Object Oriented, Event Driven and Streaming paradigms. Domain modeling, System Design, and Integration patterns. Experience in enterprise security paradigms such as access control, authorization, encryption, etc. Experience in relational/non-relational data stores. Profiling and performance optimization - threading, memory management, container optimization, etc. Experience in Cloud native technologies and continuous delivery processes.
