Job Description:

Cydecor is seeking a Data Analyst to join the Navy Readiness Reporting Enterprise Business Intelligence (NRRE-BI) team. In this role, you will leverage modern analytics tools to create dashboards, reports, and data-driven decision-support products for our government customer. You will work closely with the product owner, data analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to define and execute tasks that are aligned with prioritized customer requirements. This role requires strong communication skills and a commitment to learning the Navy's business domain and agile development methodologies.

Responsibilities include:

Design and develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations that provide actionable insights and support business decision-making. Use business analytics tools to build and deliver data-driven solutions. Collaborate with project stakeholders to define objectives, KPIs, and report/dashboard requirements. Apply querying languages such as SQL and scripting languages like Python or R to analyze and process data. Combine data analysis with subject-matter expertise to deliver insightful, actionable recommendations. Participate in brainstorming, refining, and planning activities to develop and manage requirements. Commit to iterative development, testing hypotheses, and adapting solutions as needed. Experience researching customer concepts, capturing requirements, and analyzing information. Strong commitment to learning the Navy readiness production business domain. Ability to deliver impactful analytics solutions in a collaborative team environment. Here's what you need:

Minimum of 5 years in business analysis or a similar role requiring research, analysis, and critical thinking. Proficiency in Qlik Sense is preferred, but the candidate should be willing to learn the Qlik Sense application stack if they have experience with other tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, IBM Cognos). Strong skills in Excel, including Power Query and Power Query M formula language. Proficiency in SQL and experience working with structured data. Experience collecting and transforming data. Strong ability to identify trends, patterns, and relationships in data. Critical assessment of data to uncover meaningful insights. Enthusiastic about exploring new data sources and understanding their significance. Always asking "why" and "how" to deepen insights and find root causes. Proficient in explaining data insights and recommendations clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Skill in creating compelling visualizations and reports to support storytelling. Focused on finding actionable solutions to business challenges using data. Creative in applying different methods or tools to solve data-related problems. Precision in validating and ensuring data accuracy. Careful documentation and checking of work to avoid errors. Understanding of organizational goals to align analysis with business priorities. Ability to translate analytical findings into strategic recommendations. Willing to partner with teams across departments, including marketing, finance, and IT. Open to incorporating input from stakeholders to refine analysis and deliverables. Comfortable learning new tools, techniques, and systems to meet project needs. Flexible in handling dynamic data challenges or shifting priorities. Evaluates the quality and credibility of data sources. Challenges assumptions and ensures interpretations are based on robust evidence. Ensures confidentiality and responsible use of sensitive data. Identifies and mitigates biases in data analysis. Skilled at managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines. Prioritizes tasks effectively based on urgency and importance. Proficient in designing clear, impactful charts, graphs, and dashboards. Communicates complex data stories in a simple, actionable format. Stays committed to solving data challenges even when datasets are incomplete or messy. Maintains patience when troubleshooting or addressing feedback loops. Bonus points if you have:

Experience using DataBricks Experience using Power BI, IBM Cognos, Tableau, or other analytics tools. Knowledge and experience within the Navy or DoD readiness domain.

Work Schedule:

Onsite M-F 0800-1630 at Naval Support Activity, Norfolk VA.
