Position: Customer Support Technician
Location: DeForest, WI
Hourly Rate: $38.13
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7am - 4pm

Primary Purpose of Position:
Reporting directly to the Manager of Seamer Services, you will be providing technical support for the customer equipment service function as directed.
What you'll be doing:
* Follows all company and customer safety protocols and maintains a safe working environment. * Assists customers with set up of seaming equipment, periodic evaluations of double seam quality, and corrective actions to seamer. * Identifies customer equipment setup inconsistencies to avoid packaging quality problems. * Develops, submits, and performs a routine schedule of filling operation visits. * Assist Sonoco manufacturing plants with any quality problems at customer locations and coordinating solutions. * Assists with training systems to develop and maintain the competence and technical skills of customer, plant, and support personnel. * Notifies Sonoco plant, commercial, and support personnel of potential quality or service issues identified at customer locations. * Supports product tests at customer locations, coordinating line runs and evaluating results from a technical and performance point of view. * Audits customers and plant seaming equipment to identify maintenance and overhaul requirements. * Supports overhaul shop as necessary on plant and customer seamer overhauls. Leads overhaul projects for assigned customers.

* Broad training in a related field usually acquired through high school or graduate degree level education or work-related experience * Job related experience for 1-year(s) minimum * Working knowledge of the following areas: * Double seaming operation and the working components of the machine * Mechanically accepted practices and procedures * Engineering principles, practices, nomenclature, and procedures * Can and end manufacture, filler operation, and conveying * Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. * Must be able to organize, plan, and prioritize
