Senior Data Scientist

The Data Science and AI/ML team collaborates across the organization to identify, develop and deliver Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) powered software solutions that improve patient outcomes, delight our partners and customers, and improve the way we do business in an “AI First” fashion. On any given day, the team could be working on building sophisticated models to delivering personalized recommendations to patients to improve their sleep, identify optimal equipment and settings using our unparalleled store of billion+ nights of sleep data, proactively identify other health risk factors, or help optimize complex, global supply chain operations. Let’s talk about the role The Senior Data Scientist willdevelopmodel-basedsolutionsinmultipleareas ofbusiness interest toResMed, using the latest technologies in machine learning andcloudcomputing. The algorithms developed may be used in a range ofuse casesinpersonalizingthe patient journeyfrom disease identification through treatmentand supportin order to deliver the best health outcomes.Examples could includemodels fordiagnostic and therapeutic applicationsinsleep disorder breathing, chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder, and other respiratory disorders, as well as co-morbidities and chronic disease management. Develop statistical and machine learning algorithms to meet complexproductrequirements. Yourtaskswillinclude defining hypotheses, executing necessary tests and experiments, evaluate, tuneand optimizealgorithms and methods always with an eye towards implementation ease, scalability, and robustness in a live environment. Work closely with stakeholders from Product Management, Engineering, and other business stakeholders to create impactful,intelligent features and products. Collaborate closely with other team members including other Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and Data Engineers and “own” the end to end process. You will be given wide authority to develop creativemodel-basedsolutions butwillalso be held to high quality and accountability standards. You will mentor and train more junior team members and serveas a go-to expertinyourarea ofstatistics and machine learning. Thoroughly and diligently document the modeldesign, experiments, tests, validations, and live metrics andoutcomes. You may be asked to writedocuments for use in the preparation of intellectual property and technical publications. Let's talk about you 5+ years’ industry experience in Data Science. M.S or PhD inData Science/Machine Learning or closely related areassuch asComputer Science, Operations Research,Applied Statistics,andBiomedical Informatics. Deepgrounding inmachine learningtechniquesincluding regression methods, classification, Neural Networks, Deep Learning, as well as knowledge ofclustering and unsupervised learning,time seriesforecastingand optimization methods. Rigorous academicorexperientialknowledge ofthe mathematical essentials for Data Science. Technical experience in building intelligent data products, prediction models and recommendation engines using ML/AI. Solid foundation with development of data analytics systems, including data exploration/crawling, feature engineering, model building, performance evaluation, and deployment of models. Proficient with programming in Python and using Linux. Hands-on experience handling large and distributed datasets. Strong database skills and experience, including experience with SQL programming. Experience withAWSor othercloud-basedtools and technologies for data pipelining, model development, and deployment. Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills. This role is eligible to receive an annual cash bonus payment based on company, business unit, and/or individual performance. Base Pay Range for this position: $130,000- $194,000 For remote positions located outside of the US, pay will be determined based the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.
