IFC's Treasury Client Solutions Department is a client-facing transaction-structuring and execution team that provides IFC's clients with innovative fixed-income solutions. The group has global responsibility for structured products, derivative transactions, local currency solutions, and debt capital markets solutions. The department is looking to appoint an experienced finance professional to join the Latin America and Caribbean team, covering markets in Latin America and the Caribbean. The individual would lead the department's regional efforts to develop, implement, and execute innovative financing solutions for IFC's clients including local currency and structured finance solutions across a variety of structures, asset classes, sectors, and markets, and lead the department's global product expertise. The position is currently based in Washington D.C.
Responsibilities:
Enable teams to develop, structure, price and execute fixed income transactions for IFC's clients in the areas of debt capital markets instruments, structured finance, local currency bond programs, and interest rate and currency derivatives; Lead cross-functional teams in the creation, approval and implementation of relevant policies, frameworks, processes and methodologies in the subject matter areas of the department; Provide quality control and ensure the team adheres to best practice and complies with relevant policies, frameworks and guidelines; Create business opportunities and drive business development and innovation together with relevant teams; Lead the department's global product expertise and oversee the provision of corporate-wide training and knowledge management services; Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at senior level, including regulators, government entities, investors, global and regional bank counterparts, and capital market firms; Lead collaboration across IFC and WBG units and make strategic recommendations that strengthen IFC's value proposition for clients; Be an active member of the department's leadership team and work on developing and articulating the department's strategy; Supervise multiple staff members and provide leadership and guidance to a team of highly skilled analytical and quantitative professionals to foster technical excellence and professional development; Take full accountability for business delivery, managing risk, and ensuring outcomes are aligned with IFC's strategy; Represent Treasury in corporate-wide task forces and working groups.
Selection Criteria
MBA/Master's degree in Finance, Financial Engineering, Financial Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Financial Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or a related quantitative area; At least 12 years of relevant work experience in structuring fixed income and/or structured products with a focus on emerging markets, preferable within an investment bank, rating agency, development finance institution, or other capital markets institution; Deep theoretical and practical expertise in fixed income instruments including interest rate and cross currency derivatives and/or structured products; Recognized within and outside the WBG for expertise and thought leadership in the context of complex fixed income products and markets; Hands-on experience with managing market risks, structuring and delivering treasury solutions, and deep understanding of prevailing regulations; Proven ability to guide clients as a trusted advisor, drive innovation and lead cross-functional technical teams; Extensive professional network that can be leveraged to generate opportunities, and robust relationship with important market counterparts and regulators at senior level; Proven ability to foster open discussions with broad audiences, encouraging a learning culture, effectively mentoring others, model expectations of respectful and collaborative behavior recognize collaboration and contribution of others, and provide a safe environment for exchange of ideas; Excellent business judgment and track record in transaction execution; Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to describe highly complex concepts, approaches, and lessons learned in a manner that is relevant and understandable for clients and stakeholders; Flexibility and willingness to work in different time zones as required in a global team.
