CPU Physical Design Engineer

As a CPU Physical Design Engineer, you will work with the microarchitecture and RTL design team to implement the designs meeting aggressive power, area, and performance goals using industry standard tools/flows. Required Experience: Experience with synthesis, place and route, and signoff timing/power analysis. Knowledge of high performance and low power implementation methods. Knowledge of CPU microarchitecture, logic design, and circuits. Preferred Qualifications: MS in Electrical Engineering with 10 years of experience. Knowledge of CPU microarchitecture. Preferred experience in deep submicron process technology nodes. Familiarity with library cells and optimizations. Proficient in industry-standard tools for synthesis, place & route, and tape out flows. Roles and Responsibilities: Collaborate with the CPU microarchitecture team to comprehend specifications and evaluate design trade-offs in pipeline and structure sizing. Conduct feasibility studies to validate the implementability, area, timing, and power requirements. Synthesize the Verilog RTL into gate-level designs and perform necessary optimizations. Execute synthesis, place & route on the designs using industry-standard tools and deliver GDS files. Optimize the design at various stages from RTL to GDS to achieve timing, power, and area objectives. Ensure the designs are validated for functional and electrical robustness. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 7+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. OR PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. Pay Range and Other Compensation & Benefits: $233,000.00 - $349,600.00. The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
