Senior Virtualization Engineer with an active Secret clearance
as part of an ongoing contract in Washington, DC.
This is a full-time, hybrid role three (3) days on-site two (2) days remote AFTER TRAINING. Please note: Due to the secure nature of this government agency, all candidates must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident and have an active Secret clearance. The successful candidate will receive a contingent offer based on the outcome of a government background check. This may take several weeks, and the candidate cannot begin actual employment until the background check is successfully completed. The senior virtualization engineer will lead efforts to design, deploy, configure and manage a hybrid of physical and virtual data center with VMware ESXi hosts providing High Availability and Distributed Resource Scheduler (DRS), Hyper-V and Hyper-V Failover Clustering in VMware virtualization infrastructure on-prem for government and commercial clients. They will be responsible for leveraging cutting-edge technologies to develop interactive and immersive virtualizations that support data analysis, decision-making, and communication. Deploy, configure, and maintain VM computation in Azure cloud and VMWare infrastructure. Design and develop interactive virtualization solutions using industry-leading tools and technologies. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess virtualization needs, and develop innovative solutions that meet user objectives. Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams on virtualization best practices, tools, and techniques. Conduct user testing and feedback sessions to refine virtualization designs and improve usability. Upgrading and maintenance of virtual machine server operating systems. Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in virtualization, recommending innovative solutions to enhance data analysis and decision-making processes. Provision new Azure subscriptions and configure Virtual Networks, Storage accounts, Resource Groups, etc. Managing, monitoring, and optimizing performance and availability of resources in a hybrid environment. Responsible for backup of all VMs and resources deployed in Azure cloud and on-prem VMWare infrastructure. Qualifications include: MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in data virtualization or related field. Experience with designing and developing interactive virtualization solutions. Proficiency in virtualization tools and technologies (e.g., VMware, AZURE). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred certifications/education: Relevant certifications such as VMware Cloud Foundation or Microsoft Certified: AZURE Administrative Associate. Physical Demands:
