Business Unit Overview This position is part of Novanta's Corporate and Shared Services global teams. Novanta's Corporate and Shared Services teams play an important role in executing the company's strategic mission and operations. The Corporate and Shared Services teams work closely with all Novanta business units to support operating initiatives contributing to the organization's financial success. Summary The Individual in this role will be responsible for overseeing and managing the US IT operations team, user infrastructure, and ensuring that Novanta's end user systems are secure, reliable, and meet the needs of the user community. This individual will plan, coordinate, and direct IT personnel and operations related activities for the US regional sites. This individual will provide administrative direction and support for the US IT operations team members. This will include developing IT operations processes for user on-boarding and off-boarding, device procurement, patching, device management, and deployment. This is a full-time position, typical hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Primary Responsibilities Develop and implement IT policy and best practice guides for the organization. Lead large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services Oversee and manage the IT team, including hiring, training, evaluation, guidance, discipline, and dismissal. Oversee and support the Microsoft Office 365 environment. Oversee and support all Audio and Video conferencing systems in the US. Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to Internal IT systems. Partner with the cybersecurity team to Identify and eliminate security vulnerabilities with Novanta approved systems and solutions that increase data security. Manage and coordinate all IT-related operations including Asset leases, data security, data retention, Microsoft Teams calling, printer standards and service desk support. Monitor the performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure Establish team goals, objectives, and operating procedures. General Tasks Strict compliance with the quality, occupational safety and environmental regulations and implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management officer and the occupational safety specialist. The manager is responsible for creating and maintaining facilities for his or her area of responsibility, and for giving instructions and taking other measures to ensure, maintain and improve occupational safety and environmental protection regarding occupational safety and environmental protection, the prevention of occupational accidents and environmental damage, occupational diseases and work-related health hazards. Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies Experience in analysis, implementation, and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications. Sound understanding of computer systems (hardware/software), networks, etc. Experience in controlling information technology budget. Possess exceptional leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a team of IT professionals. 7-10 years' experience in IT, with 5 years of proven experience as an IT Manager or similar role (preferred) Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred) Travel Requirements Some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Physical Requirements Mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer. Ability to use vison to read computer screen and read printed materials.
