GENERAL SUMMARY Performs diversified functions to assist the classroom teacher.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Supervises students in classroom, during pull-out classes, in the lunchroom and on the playground Helps transport students within the building Helps ensure a safe and stimulating environment Provides supplemental instruction to students and aids instructional efforts under the direction of the classroom teacher Assists the teacher with creating and organizing items for a lesson Assists the teachers with data collection, record keeping and creating materials for the classroom Reviews materials with students as needed Is present and engages during class sessions helping the teacher as directed Copies materials as requested. Assists in enforcing school rules, administrative regulations and board policies. Performs all other related duties as assigned or requested.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Associates Degree, 60 credit hours in a higher educational institution, or passing score on Work Keys preferred
Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of school district policies and procedures pertinent to the duties of the job. Thorough knowledge of general and payable accounting practices and procedures. Knows of the reports and records which must be prepared, processed and maintained in order to meet federal, state and district requirements. Is knowledgeable and proficient in the use of computers for the entry and maintenance of date and the creations of necessary reports.
Skills/Efforts: Ability to analyze varied and complex functions, processes and tasks for the preparation of varied and complex records and reports. Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy in exercising duties. Ability to anticipate work to be completed and initiate proper and acceptable direction for completion of work with little to no supervision and instruction. Ability to work independently on responsible and confidential assignments and complex administrative tasks. Ability to work independently on responsible and confidential assignments and complex administrative tasks. Ability to type clear copy at the minimum required rate. Demonstrates high level of skill in the use of general office equipment such as calculators, computers, etc. Ability to create electronic reports and presentations, use the internet efficiently, communicate electronically via e-mail, and manage electronic data and files in an organized manner. Ability to make arithmetical computation and tabulations with speed and accuracy. Excellent verbal communication, organization, time management and telephone skills.
