The Division of Transplant Surgery Department of Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine is accepting applications for a full-time, Transplant surgeon faculty position at the Associate Professor or Professor rank without tenure by reason of funding (WOT). Associate Professors and Professors WOT hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The salary and rank are commensurate with training, qualifications, and experience, with an expected start date in Fall 2024. At the rank of Associate Professor (WOT), the base salary range for this position will be: $36,667 - $41,667 per month ($440,004 - $500,004 annually). At the rank of Professor (WOT), the base salary range for this position will be: $45,834 - $49,167 per month ($550,008 - $590,004 annually). Base salaries at all ranks will be commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through UWP. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. The position will be based at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) Montlake (ML) campus and includes patient care management of the pre- and post-transplant continuum of care, transplantation and procurement of donor organs for the various organ systems (kidney, pancreas, and liver). The successful candidate will participate in surgical transplantation procedures, clinics, candidate selection, and donor organ evaluation and recovery. The responsibilities also include full participation in the standard call schedule on all abdominal organ systems. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. Requirements for this position include: MD degree (or foreign equivalent), board eligibility (or foreign equivalent) in surgery, and successful completion of a transplant surgery fellowship. Must be licensed to practice medicine in Washington by the time of appointment. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
