CVICU is a 18 bed unit that supports three surgical lines, cardiac, thoracic, and vascular at the ICU level. Open heart, complex thoracic and vascular patients recover on the unit with our specialized trained nurses. Patients are stabilized and supported by impella, IBP, CRRT and ECMO. Nursing ratio is 1:2, however depending on the patient can be a 1:1. The unit also supports complex cases coming from cath lab, structural heart program and EP lab, ER and clinic. We are looking for nurses who have 1 year of experience with this patient population. We do not utilize CNAs in our ICU. The only certification that we require is ACLS.

Population we care for in CVICU: ECMO, Balloon Pumps, CRRT, Heart Surgeries, TAVRs, Common and Advanced thoracic and cardiac surgeries, Lytic cases, Carotids and TCARS Fempop, EVAR's/Endo AAA's
