is seeking an entry level
Office Engineer
who is essential to the execution of fieldwork, primarily focusing on construction management tasks.
This role involves active participation in a variety of field operations, particularly emphasizing safety and quality control. Working alongside the construction manager and inspectors, the Office Engineer is responsible for using judgment and discretion when implementing policies and procedures and managing diverse office-related activities. Key responsibilities include tracking contract modifications such as RFIs and change orders as well as reviewing contractors’ pay applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support and assist the project manager with planning, completion of assignments, and resolution of project difficulties.
Coordinates with the project manager to determine scope, complexity, planning, and scheduling requirements of projects.
Facilitate project administration and field activities with construction inspectors, emphasizing safety and quality control.
Collaborate with the project manager, exercising judgment and discretion in recommendations.
Track RFIs and change orders.
Assist in reviews and approvals.
Review contractor’s pay applications.
Maintain field file of approved submittals and RFI responses.
Communicate regularly with the Construction Manager.
Monitor the contractor’s “red line” drawings and order corrections as necessary.
Required Experience and Skills:
Must have 1-3 years of experience in construction management.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with EIT certification and/or a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management.
Experience with various types of paving applications, including asphalt and concrete.
Ability to read and understand construction plans.
Willingness and ability to work outdoors in a desert environment.
Willingness and ability to work on remote projects.
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
