to lead the integration of our

Rocket Universe database

with

Microsoft SQL Server , enabling advanced reporting and analytics while laying the groundwork for a potential hybrid cloud strategy.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The

Data Architect

will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust data infrastructure to normalize and integrate data from the legacy

Rocket Universe database

into

Microsoft SQL Server . You will also architect a potential hybrid storage solution, balancing the benefits of on-premises and cloud storage to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving AI-driven environment. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Data Integration & Transformation:

Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from the Rocket Universe system into Microsoft SQL Server using SSIS, ensuring data normalization and structuring for advanced reporting and analytics while implementing strategies to maintain data consistency and integrity between the systems. Back-End Architecture Design:

Design and implement scalable, secure on-premises database solutions for manufacturing data storage and processing, with a vision for a hybrid on-premises/cloud architecture to support flexible and scalable organizational growth. Reporting and Analytics:

Create and optimize Power BI datasets, dashboards, and reports to meet business intelligence needs, ensuring efficient data models for both Import and DirectQuery modes. AI-Ready Data Solutions:

Collaborate with AI teams to develop data pipelines and storage solutions tailored for machine learning and predictive analytics, ensuring systems are capable of supporting large-scale AI operations. Performance Optimization:

Monitor and enhance ETL pipelines, SQL queries, and database performance, leveraging aggregated views and OLAP structures for improved query efficiency. Governance & Security:

Establish and enforce comprehensive data governance policies for both on-premises and cloud-based systems to ensure data security and compliance. Ensure compliance with industry standards for data security and privacy. Who we are seeking in an applicant:

We are seeking an applicant with at least a bachelor's degree in computer sciences, information systems, or a related field and 5-8 years of verifiable experience in data architecture, ETL, and systems integration. Additional qualifications include:

Experience integrating legacy systems, specifically Rocket Universe or other MulitValue databases with modern relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server. Proficiency with SSIS for ETL development and workflow automation. Advanced SQL skills for schema design, query optimization, and stored procedure development. Familiarity with Rocket Universe/MultiValue databases and their integration techniques. Experience with Power BI including data modeling and visualization. Knowledge of cloud database platforms such as Azure SQL Database or AWS RDS. Strong understanding of OLAP, SSAS, and other data modeling tools. Other helpful, but not required certifications include: Azure Data Engineer Associate or equivalent, Power BI Data Analyst Associate, AWS Certified Database - Specialty.
