Job Overview:

The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and driving the strategic direction of restoration projects, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and driving operational efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of restoration processes, including water, fire, mold, and storm damage remediation, as well as experience in managing large teams, budgeting, and implementing best practices to streamline operations. The VP of Operations will play a key role in scaling the business, maintaining operational standards, and driving profitability through effective management and process improvement. Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

Develop and execute operational strategies to drive business growth, improve customer satisfaction, and increase efficiency within restoration operations. Provide leadership to restoration teams across all project stages, from emergency response to the final repairs and reconstruction. Collaborate with executive leadership team & region President to define operational KPIs, set strategic goals, and ensure alignment with the company's overall vision. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and customer-focused service throughout all levels of the company. Work closely with the sales department to establish and maintain a strong working relationship between sales and operations, ensuring seamless collaboration and shared objectives. Operational Efficiency:

Oversee the restoration process, including damage assessment, emergency mitigation, demolition, cleaning, drying, mold remediation, and repairs. Ensure that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Develop and maintain efficient workflows, procedures, and systems to optimize resource allocation, labor utilization, and equipment management. Monitor project timelines and budgets, identify operational bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely completion. Financial and Budget Management:

Develop, manage, and track operational budgets, ensuring that all financial targets are met. Work with general managers to review cost estimates, track expenses, and ensure the profitability of restoration jobs. Implement cost-control measures without sacrificing service quality or safety standards. Compliance, Safety, and Risk Management:

Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to restoration, construction, and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, IICRC). Maintain a strong safety culture by developing safety protocols, conducting regular training, and ensuring adherence to safety guidelines on job sites. Identify risks associated with restoration projects (e.g., liability, environmental hazards) and develop strategies to mitigate them. Customer Satisfaction:

Oversee customer service initiatives to ensure timely communication, quality service, and resolution of customer issues. Ensure the company's customer service teams are properly trained to handle claims, coordinate with insurance adjusters, and deliver a seamless experience from start to finish. Work closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure customer expectations are met and exceeded throughout the restoration process. Team Management and Development:

Lead and mentor a large, diverse team of general managers, project managers, estimators and technicians. Work with HR on recruiting, training, and retaining top talent. Establish clear performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide continuous feedback to team members. Ensure proper resource allocation across multiple projects, including staffing, equipment, and materials. Technology and Process Improvement:

Leverage technology and software solutions (e.g., job management systems, field service apps) to streamline operations, track progress, and improve data accuracy. Lead continuous improvement efforts to optimize project workflows, reduce waste, and implement industry best practices in restoration processes. Evaluate new tools, equipment, and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of services. Vendor and Supply Chain Management:

Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure the timely procurement of materials and equipment. Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with service level agreements for external vendors. Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in business administration, Construction Management, or a related field; certifications related to restoration (e.g., IICRC, RIA) or a master's degree is a plus. Experience:

Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in the restoration or construction industry. Proven success in managing restoration projects, leading cross-functional teams, and improving operational efficiency. Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and cost control within the restoration or construction sector. Skills:

In-depth knowledge of the restoration industry, including water, fire, mold, and storm damage remediation techniques. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex, time-sensitive projects. Proficient in the use of restoration industry software, ERP systems, and project management tools. A commitment to safety and regulatory compliance in all aspects of operations. Key Competencies:
