Business Technology Integrators (BTI) in Upper Marlboro, MD is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager for government contract in Washington DC Job Summary: The IT Project Manager will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical and personnel management across multiple disciplines such as engineering, application development, and systems development. This individual will oversee various teams, coordinate project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring alignment with technical and business goals. The IT Project Manager will manage projects of varying complexity, ensuring that timelines, quality standards, and contractual obligations are met. They will be expected to lead both internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Execution: Conceive, plan, and execute a variety of IT projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical goals. Define project scope, identify and analyze project requirements, and develop cost-effective solutions to achieve project success. Lead projects that require exploration of diverse subject areas, problem-solving, and development of innovative approaches for resolution. Create detailed project plans, outlining objectives, timelines, deliverables, and key milestones. Team Leadership & Personnel Management: Provide leadership, technical direction, and personnel management to subordinate teams, which may include technical staff, engineers, developers, and administrative personnel. Manage subcontractors and external resources, assigning tasks and monitoring progress to ensure compliance with contractual and quality standards. Ensure that all team members are aligned with project objectives and maintain consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle. Resource Allocation & Scheduling: Schedule and assign tasks to subordinates, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet project deadlines. Monitor team and project progress to ensure timelines and deliverables are on track. Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate project changes, addressing discrepancies, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. Risk Management & Problem Solving: Identify project risks, issues, and challenges, and develop strategies for risk mitigation and problem resolution. Proactively resolve discrepancies and conflicts between team members, stakeholders, or subcontractors to ensure continuous project progress. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Act as the primary point of contact for all project-related communications, including regular updates to stakeholders, management, and clients. Ensure consistent, transparent, and proactive communication to stakeholders, providing status reports, addressing concerns, and managing expectations. Prepare detailed project reports to document progress, risks, financials, and performance metrics. Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with established quality standards, contract requirements, and applicable regulations. Conduct reviews and audits of project performance to identify areas for improvement, ensuring the highest level of quality and adherence to project goals. Address any discrepancies in quality or performance and develop corrective action plans as needed. Budget & Cost Control: Manage project budgets, ensuring that projects remain within the approved financial scope. Provide cost-effective solutions and monitor expenses, ensuring that resources are used efficiently. Prepare financial reports and projections to ensure transparency and compliance with contractual financial requirements. Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Project Manager, with experience managing technical and personnel aspects of complex projects. Technical Expertise: Demonstrated understanding of IT and engineering principles, application programming, systems development, and technical project management methodologies. Leadership Skills: Proven experience managing cross-functional teams, providing technical direction, and overseeing project execution. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities to identify project risks and discrepancies and develop cost-effective solutions. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred. Experience working with subcontractors and managing external resources on projects. Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies. Knowledge of government contracting standards and compliance requirements.
