System Integration Lead Austin,Texas,United States Hardware System Firmware & Diagnostics Group has an immediate opening for a System Integration Lead. Our team is part of the system hardware development organization responsible for bringing new and exciting hardware products with the best quality to the users through innovation. As a key technical contributor, you will lead and multi-functionally represent the definition and execution of system integration tests in Apple's next generation products in order to help identify system-level design and manufacturing issues. You must thrive in a fast-paced environment, have strong understanding of software fundamentals, confirmed background working with systems, excellent interpersonal skills, and a desire to work with multi-functional teams to develop ground-breaking products. Your contributions will make a pronounced difference to future Apple products. Description In this role you will be working with the multi-functional team to architect, coordinate definition and execution of system level integration tests targeted for hardware qualification by way of deep diving into the hardware architecture and analyzing metrics reported by these tests. The responsibilities span all aspects of product bring-up and test: Own various aspects of system validation across NPI products with focus on MacOS and iOS SW components along with customized drivers and firmware. Interact with hardware, software, test, operations, contract manufacturers and various other multi-functional teams within Apple to drive hardware qualification goals and test definition to implement that qualification Help drives the design and bring up of manufacturing software/drivers/diagnostics software for new hardware products. Enable functional, stability, and performance tests to qualify various aspects of HW/SW interactions Scope the development and dependencies of drivers, applications, protocols, frameworks, and command line utilities for validation of hardware design and for manufacturing Develop tools/scripts to lead data analysis efforts Perform data analysis from hardware builds to enable feedback to test definition, hardware design and identify test coverage gaps that can affect manufacturing quality Enable and support system level test execution for new product development builds, locally in US and at contract manufacturers site First level triage and debug of issues reported by these system integration tests Drive and enable process improvements Communicate status to the executive management on a regular basis Minimum Qualifications Engineering experience: 2-5 years Validated understanding of embedded hardware components and hardware/software interactions Strong background in computer architecture, bus technologies (such as I2C, SPI) and IO protocols (such as PCIe, USB) Strong background with scripting and programming skills in Python, Lua and Objective C. Technical leadership/program management experience: 1-2 years is highly desired Key Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Experience with validation of functional and stability aspects of system and silicon interaction with software Experience with triage and debug of issues Thrive in a collaborative environment, prioritize and clearly communicate while driving multiple projects across many teams Manufacturing experience and prior exposure to working with contract manufacturers is highly desired Enthusiastically hard-working and inquisitive, and seek to address problems in innovative ways Education & Experience Additional Requirements Apple is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to inclusion and diversity.
