3 About the Role: As an Embedded Systems Engineer, you will manage and contribute to the development of sophisticated mechanical and electrical systems with real-time computing constraints. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, firmware, and software engineers, to design and deliver embedded solutions that meet and exceed customer expectations. Key Responsibilities: Define requirements for HVAC systems in collaboration with marketing and customers.
Act as a systems engineer within the product development process.
Partner with hardware, firmware, software, validation/reliability, and manufacturing engineering teams.
Make strategic tradeoff decisions between hardware and software in product designs.
Capture requirements, draft specifications, and develop test plans for verification and validation.
Actively participate in project planning, including resource estimation and risk assessment.
Lead and contribute to software DFMEAs and systems architecture for new products.
Develop systems-level test cases and documentation for functional requirements.
Participate in risk identification reviews and provide systems leadership within project teams.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Controls Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
2+ years of systems engineering experience with embedded products.
Proficiency in IBM DOORS, JIRA/Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
Experience with requirements capture/definition and microcontrollers (8, 16, and 32-bit).
Familiarity with wireless protocols such as Wi-Fi, BLE, Zigbee/CHIP, and Zwave.
Strong understanding of C and C++ programming languages.
Expertise in DFMEAs and controls systems/algorithm design (MATLAB/Simulink experience is a plus).
HVAC controls system design experience is advantageous.

$69.76 per hour
