The Opportunity Abbott has a remote, field-based opportunity for a Director, Market Access Analytics & Forecasting. This individual will direct a team to manage rebate forecasting, Market Access analytics, and commercialization strategy for Abbott Diabetes Care, U.S. (“ADC”). Key functions for the role include leading a team that develops world-class forecasting infrastructure, working cross-functionally with Finance on LBE processes, developing forecast KPIs, supporting pre-deal bid planning, and managing post-deal analytics. The team, under this director, will proactively identify risks and opportunities related to access in government, national, and regional payers, for Market Access and Commercial management coaching and decision-making. This role will also work cross-functionally to set Market Access commercialization strategies for ADC’s pipeline of new products, such as establishing optimal WAC price, net price, and rebating targets that optimize US launch success. What You’ll Work On Build, lead, and coach a high-performance team to accomplish objectives and focused on developing best-in-class forecasting systems and Market Access analytics. Lead the team in developing the Market Access rebate forecasts and LBE collaboration with controller/finance. Lead the team in developing pre-deal payer scenarios, advanced analytics, post-deal valuations, and post-deal KPIs. Evolve and manage the MA data infrastructure: modernize reporting and metrics to demonstrate access performance to GM and executive leadership. Lead the team in proactive data mining and analysis for payer account management to identify coverage risks and opportunities. Work cross-functionally to develop optimal WAC price, net price, and rebate negotiation targets for new ADC product pipeline. Act as key point of contact for executive insight requests related to US Market Access and key PBM/GPO accounts. Responsible for the management of outside vendor relationships and projects needed to develop Market Access strategies for commercialization of ADCs new product pipeline. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, MBA or advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of functional experience in forecasting, with 5 years minimum leading direct reports. Minimum of 5 years experience in market access analytics and pharmaceutical industry economics. Strong understanding of PBM and pharmacy drug channel negotiations. Experience in diabetes management including pharmaceutical products or devices used in the management of diabetes. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurer reimbursement methodology and understanding of healthcare benefits (deductible, out of pocket, benefit exclusions, etc.). Experience working cross functionally with legal, compliance, R&D, clinical and other partners in the development of coverage policy. Demonstrated ability to understand and defend operational changes within the department using budgetary, ROI and KPI logic.
