Job Description: Practice: Animal Wellness Center of Pontiac is a full-service veterinary medical and surgical facility located in Pontiac, Illinois. We offer many advanced veterinary services, outpatient surgical procedures, radiography and other surgeries that require hospitalization. We strive to offer excellence in veterinary care to Livingston, McLean and the surrounding counties.Position Purpose: We are seeking an Associate Veterinarian who is looking for the opportunity to join our 3-doctor practice. We focus on the highest quality care and building lifelong relationships with pets and pet owners, while also being supported by a highly skilled team! We are a small animal practice that also sees pocket pets/furbearing animals (such as rats, gerbils, hamsters) and birds! Our doctors are benefited from an experienced and collaborative support staff who will allow you to focus on patient care and provide an excellent client experience as well as a devoted and appreciative clientele that is highly invested in their pet's health. We welcome veterinarians of all experience levels, including recent graduates who we will gladly mentor! This is a highly valued role and we want to make sure we are investing whatever is needed into the future of our practice. For that reason, we are offering up to $50,000 in sign-on bonus for the right candidate! Essential Responsibilities:Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.Provide counsel around pet end of life care.Maintain patients' medical records.Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.Requirements/Qualifications:Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited AVMA institution.Appropriate state licensure.Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.Benefits Offered:Competitive Compensation - All salary ranges are negotiable based on experienceUnlimited personal timeBonus incentivesHealth insurance; dental insurance; vision insuranceRetirement benefits (401(k), Roth(k) with match)CE and licensure reimbursement Flexible work schedulesManaging career path developmentEmployee Assistance ProgramDVM Referral ProgramMental Health ResourcesRelocation assistance available
