Job Description: Practice: Our mission at Glenwood City Veterinary Clinic is to offer first-rate, compassionate veterinary care. We are a full-service, small animal practice and rehab facility. We possess a tremendous team and see some outstanding clientele. Our team comprises three doctors, three certified veterinary technicians, several technician/kennel assistants, and CSRs. Position Purpose: We are growing and very excited about the opportunity to add another veterinarian to our team! Our founding DVM, Dr. Wilke, is a board certified surgeon, which has allowed our practice to build a large specialty surgery, theriogenology, and physical therapy caseload. If you are a DVM with surgical interest, this position would be great for you. Our practice serves as a fantastic opportunity for DVMs of all interests. In addition to general wellness and diagnostic care, our board-certified small animal surgeon sees a variety of specialized surgical procedures ranging from fracture repairs to gastropexies. We also have a full-service rehab facility with an underwater treadmill, Piezo shock wave, therapeutic ultrasound, cold laser, and e-stim. You will have only the best support as our techs are confident in performing aesthesia, placing IV catheters, obtaining radiographs, conducting other laboratory procedures, and much more to ensure our doctors' days go smoothly. The location is also incredibly safe and home to an excellent school system.Essential Responsibilities:Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.Operate diagnostic equipment and collect diagnostic samples as well as interpret results.Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.Provide counsel around pet end of life care.Maintain patients' medical records.Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.Requirements/Qualifications:DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.Appropriate state licensure.Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.Benefits Offered:Competitive Compensation - All salary ranges are negotiable based on experienceUnlimited personal timeBonus incentivesHealth insurance; dental insurance; vision insuranceRetirement benefits (401(k), Roth(k) with match)CE and licensure reimbursement Flexible work schedulesManaging career path developmentEmployee Assistance ProgramDVM Referral ProgramMental Health ResourcesRelocation assistance available
