As part of a diverse and hardworking team of specialists, you will
help design and develop rocket engines and propulsion systems that meet Blue Origin’s launch vehicle program requirements
for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of
the structural analysis work of a rocket engine program . Responsibilities for this role include developing Component Finite Element Models (FEM) based on interaction with the design and engine system analysis team and Perform classic hand calculations and FEM Simulations of rocket engine hardware including turbomachinery, manifolds, and thrust chambers. You will also use structural analysis methods to support test and failure investigations and Improve existing analytical capabilities while provide guidance to design and structural analysis engineers to improve the performance of designs. Additionally you will communicate analysis results to the team, be responsible for peer review of analysis reports, and support process development. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and 10+ years of experience in structural analysis utilizing FEM
Must have experience with structural modeling of pressurized components, rocket engine hardware, or similar high performance hardware
Excellent understanding of structural analysis/mechanics
Ability to work effectively in teams
Ability to be self-directed and balance several tasks at one time
Ability to communicate analysis results effectively
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Desired: Knowledge of ANSYS Mechanical strongly desired.
Knowledge of at least one
programming/scripting
language (Python/MATLAB/etc)
Compensation Range for: CA applicants is $136,467.00-$191,053.80;WA applicants is $136,467.00-$191,053.80
