Description
The Director of Operations will provide day-to-day leadership to ensure that the operations, finance, and information technology functions of the organizations are closely coordinated and operating effectively.
In close collaboration with the Clark Prenatal-Neonatal Pillar Director, s/he will liaise with external Children's National business partners, and other key stakeholders on behalf of the organization. S/he will effectively and diplomatically manage and leverage relationships, model the values of the organization, and demonstrate functional expertise and a deep commitment to the mission of the organization. Qualifications Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance, Business, Program Management or a closely related field. (Required) Master's Degree Preferred. (Preferred)
Minimum Work Experience 7 years (Required)
Required Skills/Knowledge Demonstrated leadership and management skills in the functional area(s). Strong leadership, project management, delegation and prioritization skills. Strong interpersonal skills as exhibited by the ability to influence others and build collaborative relationships both within areas of oversight and across the organization with diverse groups of individuals at all levels. Experience in forecasting, budgeting and tracking spending (full budget cycle). Advanced MS Excel, grant management, financial analysis; Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a positive attitude. Functional Accountabilities Financial Management
Direct and manage all aspects of the financial and administrative affairs of the Clark Network Prenatal-Neonatal Pillar. Direct Senior leadership in developing, implementing, and managing the administrative aspects of the annual budget. Lead organization in developing and projecting budgets, prepares monthly financial reports, utilizes financial projection models for strategic and operational planning, and analyzes and reports on business and strategic implications of financial information. Forecast trends and impending developments, execute financial components of the Clark Network Prenatal-Neonatal Pillar programming, develop audit plan and oversee audits. Analyze internal procedures and design and implement internal control procedures. Maintain accounting for all sources of grant funding. Ensure compliance with grantor reporting requirements. Human Resources Management
Work with the Director of the Clark Network Prenatal-Neonatal Pillar to lead the planning of efficient expansion of staffing and core resources in a growth situation. Analyze and monitor organizational staffing requirements and align departments to effectively and efficiently meet organizational needs. Develop and conduct administrative oversight and an annual review of all personnel policies. Oversee and ensure compliance across the organization. Direct Business Operations
Serve as administrative liaison to CN Business partners. In close alignment with the strategic plan, evaluate the effectiveness of management practices, processes and activities; recommend or otherwise ensure appropriate measures are taken to maximize the performance of all operations. Guide or otherwise enable informed and prudent decision-making regarding legal and financial risk. Provide strategic oversight and management of Information Technology, Data Management and Analysis, Human Resources and Legal functions for the organization. Manage administrative paperwork for the organization including, but not limited to, insurance, registrations, records, contracts, background checks and policies. Ensure organizational compliance to include but not limited to: Children's National policies, fundraising and solicitation registration requirements, finance and accounting standard practices, and data and privacy regulations. IT Oversight
Oversee IT and office management. Monitor systems for relevance and efficiency, and make corrections as needed. Ensure compliance with Children's National and the Clark Network Prenatal-Neonatal Pillar policies and procedures. Develop policies and procedures relevant to the Clark Network Prenatal-Neonatal Pillar. Build and ensure quality systems and services are matched to the needs of the organization. Direct the professional growth and development of finance, IT and operations staff. Promote a climate of promotion and success with staff and management. Responsible for the implementation and completion of annual reviews of operations, IT, and finance staff and provides feedback and training for staff in the necessary areas. Contribute to Executive Team and overall organizational goals and objectives. Provide organizational support as required by other departments. Organizational Accountabilities
