Our goal is to provide customers with a delightful and personalized experience for consuming free, ad-supported content across news, sports, cooking, gaming, entertainment, lifestyle, and more.
Key job responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and UX, to design and build exceptional customer experiences that drive revenue for our content partners.
Tackle highly ambiguous problems, navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, and deliver innovative solutions.
Design, develop, test, and deploy high-performance, scalable, and robust systems in a multi-tiered, distributed environment.
Demonstrate deep expertise in streaming audio/video technology, software architecture, and technical trade-off decision-making.
Lead the engineering team in solving difficult problems, establishing best practices, and improving delivery speed.
Analyze data, identify and triage revenue-impacting issues, and partner with data scientists to measure feature impact and iterate quickly.
Mentor and develop other engineers, helping them grow their skills and advance their careers.
A day in the life
As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will lead a team of engineers in designing and developing advertising solutions for the fast-growing Fire TV Channels app. You will work closely with stakeholders across multiple organizations to influence product decisions, deliver delightful user experiences, and drive business value.
You will launch quickly, utilize data to rapidly iterate, and see the immediate impact of your work on millions of Fire TV and Alexa devices. Prepare to tackle complex, ambiguous problems and have fun doing it!
Basic Qualifications
7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
